बनल रहै देशक संविधान
खेतमे उपजै गहुम धान
भरल पुरल रहे खरिहान
आपस मे नहिं हुए क्लेश 
नहिं क्यो बांटि सकै देश
आऊ बढाबि देशक मान
न्योछावर कर परै चाहे प्राण I

281.मनुख मात्र बेहाल अछि

चारू दिस बबाल अछि
सबलग ढेर सवाल अछि

वस्त्र  बनल रूमाल अछि
नबका जूगक कमाल अछि

लफूँआ हाजीर जबाब अछि
कियौ रोकत मजाल अछि

गरीबक जीवन जपाल अछि

महंगाई  केने निहाल अछि

कुव्यवस्था थिरकैयत ताल अछि 
मनुख मात्र बेहाल अछि

280. Deserted

Deserted looks the path
That leads to my village.
Poor facilities mocks life
Education and employment
Has long been tossed away
Bureaucracy is too busy
In pleasing the influential.


No longer the village caters
To the villagers basics ;
No longer the cuckoos call
Is music to the inhabitants ears.
The garish tunes of life
Have left them deaf.
Or may I say,
To stand in the crazy life's race
Village has failed to keep pace.

Yet the land may forgive
Their selfish needs.
But will their souls
Not one day weep?
Guilty of giving back nothing
To the land on which they rest.

Soul O Soul! I happen to be one of them.

Your company infuses energy
When I am Stupefied
By life's miseries.

Hold me close
Hug me tight
Don't let me go
For I tend to stray
When I am away.

I immerse myself in meters

Like a child in her mother's lap
Confident you won't betray.

Away from the hustle and bustle of city life
Stands my village surrounded in green. 
Its morns are filled with delightful chirps
Stars light up the clear night sky. 
Fishing,  farming,  planting trees
People go about their daily life. 
Noise and pollution are unseen here
People never forgo their afternoon nap. 
Oh!  how I long for this rustic life
Devoid of mad race 
For material needs and gains. 
I wish some day soon
To hang my socks
And be part of the real life.

When deep gloom
Engulfs my happiness, 
When joy
Fails to bloom, 
Dejected I sit in hopelessness 
Caressing my wounds
Till memories of good days 
Flits and flutters
Pushing away the unhappiness
Energized with renewed vigor. 
I  rise to under take 
The new challenges
Life throws upon me
And work towards
A better tomorrow.

Have it your way
Push me to the brink
But the pleasure of
Seeing me fall
Will not be yours. 
In this dense forest called life
I will hold on to my branch
Living till my olive lives 
And light my pyre 
With the very branch.

मान गेल अभिमान  गेल
फुसिआहि के गुमान नै गेल।

खेत गेल खरिहान गेल
खेतिहर के अरमान नै  गेल।

स्वास्थ  गेल सम्मान गेल
जिदिआह के तान नै गेल।

Your nearness at dawn 
Kindles an eternal feeling 
Making me blush
As warmth seeps in
To bind us in hungry embrace.
I feel so complete.

268. Bleak Today!

I burn the biomass
I am accused of polluting the air.
I am chased out of everywhere
I have yet to catch my breath.

I have no alternative
I am feeling numb
I need to rub
My hands and thumb.
Shivering on the cold stone
I huddle close to the fire
Wishing for it to engulf me.

I am not out here to kill

I am not here to celebrate life.
Torch me for  a bonfire tonight
Relive me from this battle to breathe. 

O! do not preach
Sitting from your luxurious homes.
Sermons are easy

Reality is crude.

Unless you improve my plight.
Don't expect 

Your tomorrow to be bright
In the light of my Bleak Today !
