Debris on streets
Reflect our callous streak
The careworn nation
Is our own creation.
Discarded bottles ,polythene and wrappers
Find an easy slip,
Promising to create new sky scrapers
As our ethics dip.
Lanes and corners are our urinating zone
To spit on road we all are prone,
Rotting smell chokes our breath
Yet careless we stay till our death.
Appeal for cleanliness
Remains meaningless,
Unless we target our self
Not to litter in public place.
Polythene must find no takers
Defacers must be treated as sinners,
Dustbin must multiply on streets soon
Roads must not be treated as spittoons.
Let us do our bit by all means
To keep our nation neat and clean.
Let’s show our gratitude
By changing our attitude.
Let's adhere to the clarion call
Let each one of us contribute,
In ways big or small
And pay motherland true tribute.
To keep our nation neat and clean.
And pay motherland true tribute.
