When cacophony of sound is in
vogue
Silence is treated as a
rogue
Associated with depression,
Punishment, pain and suppression.
Silence has a negative
connotation today
Promoting one's choice is the new mantra of the day.
Yet my heart shudders and grieves
And seeks a release from
this catastrophe.
Longing for moments of
silence.
May I have some silence
Please!!

Noise is no more a garbage
Noise is the new virtue.
Silence is the price we pay
For our immersion in noise
Silence you are the real vice.

I wonder
If you share my apathy;
Noise hurts my ears
I want to catch up on
sleep
I want to ponder over my
thoughts
I want to read and travel in
silence.
Your ring tones, music and
honks
Your tears, gossips and giggles
assault
And invades my need for
privacy.
Ah ! how I grieve for the
loss of silence.
