414. Relationship

The imprints on my skin
Makes me blush crimson red
It Stands witness to the night.

Your fingers run through my hair
As I snuggle up to your bare chest
Lips spread out as crescendo in dark.

Your hands encircle me
In its crook I relax carefree
Counting our rhythmic heart beat.

Sweet, bitter experiences  unfold
Kneading us to bind forever
Relationship thrives as it wins.

413.World Poetry Day

When your mind is filled with commotions
Let ink pour out the emotions
To Weave thoughts into compositions
And sail through varied situations.

March 21 is celebrated as the World Poetry Day. It was in 1999 that UNESCO decided to devote this day to poetry.

Poetry plays the social role of developing interpersonal communication through the use of language. There are poems that awaken our senses and emotions like never before. A good poetry makes us aware of our own dilemmas ,  questions, emotions in sublime and subtle ways through the frugality  and novelty of language.

Good poetry, like any other well crafted art form, works in mysterious  ways and can leave us feeling better or light.  As someone who reads, writes and  enjoys poetry, I am delighted there is a World Poetry Day.

I wish all the poets Happy writing!

410. Cup

Every cup that is handed
Must never be tasted
Or it will poison us
Without a fuss
And we alone
Will be slained
To end up as bone
With none to be blamed.

@Binita Jha

409. I...

I ran away in fear
Fear followed me;
I befriended courage
Courage stayed besides me.

I gave in to tears
Tears drowned me;
I gave in to smile
Smile, smiled back at me.

I took up war
War over took me;
I settled for peace
Peace settled within me.

408.Needs

Let Needs never be destructive
Or we may become subjective
And explode like explosive.

Let Needs never be negative
Or we may become its captive
And our thoughts may turn aggresive.

Let Needs never be massive
For people may become evasive
Till our needs turn out to be passive.

Let Needs make us positive
Let it settle in us as native
And channel our mind to be creative.

407. Happy Holi!

Colour the town in herbal colours
Waste less water splashing for hours.
Colour no animal in red and pink
Let sensibilty in you forever sink.
Devour mouth watering gujiyas in a wink
Wash them down with a thandai drink.
Smile and dance to the latest jingle
Share Happiness as you  mingle.

Happy Holi!

406. Sprinkle Colours

Sprinkle colours of joy among the down trodden and widows
Let the spring enter from their windows.
Fill your heart with love and compassion
Lift their life with your vision.

Dip their hands in natural colours
Let their world no longer lose its valour.
Share their Happiness as you mingle
Give them a chance to rise and twinkle.

Happy Holi!

401.Plastic Smile

I cease to exist till you are intoxicated
Then lip smacking liquor leaves it flavour;
Bruised in black and blue I lie in a pile
Contemplating the events of the day.

Soon the chirps announce a new day
I pick up the threads of my life;
Scrubbing out best the memories of the night
With a plastic smile I face the day.

400. Carve a Niche WOMEN (ghazal)

Real issues of life often unattended   passes
Frivolous issues spreads tentacles among the masses.

Poverty like venomous snake never ever misses
To strike the weakest among the masses.

Discrimination exist across globe and all classes
However progressive one may call their masses.

Difficult it is to hold when trouble kisses
World is thirsty to massacre the masses.

Hurdles and hindrances often drown our wishes
Yet, Carve a niche WOMEN, among the masses.

399. Love

Love makes us give
Love makes us take.
Love makes us yearn
Love makes us ache.
Love makes us shiver
Love makes us warm.
Love makes us patient
Love makes us impatient.
Love gives us wings
Love makes us fly.
Love makes us smile
Love makes us live.
Love makes us jealous
Love makes us crazy.
Love makes us possesive
Love makes us protective .
Love makes us do
What we wouldn't do else.
And if you doubt  any of it
You have never loved.

398.I Fight

I fight
Yes I do fight
For I need to Fight
Against uncouth onlookers stare
Found at every nook and corner
Ready to outrage women's modesty.

I fight
Yes I do fight
For I need to fight
To keep what I  want
Or the world will grab them all
If I let my grip go,  even a little easy.

I fight
Yes I do fight
For I need to fight
Against turning into stone
And becoming numb to the attrocities
Met out to the women on this earth under inumerable pretexts .

I fight
Yes I do fight
For I need to fight
All the Devils that dare
To threaten me with rape in broad daylight
So that I am silenced and their monopoly continues.

I fight
Yes I do fight
For I need to fight
The media that political touch purchase
To easily forgets the hienous crime against women
And allows criminals to flourish in the society.

I fight
Yes I do fight
For I need to fight
With myself more than anyone else
To keep reminding myself I am not weak
And at no cost I will Allow you to take me for granted.

I fight
Yes I do fight
For I need to fight
As I have the strength, care, love and support
From men in my life not to cow down to injustice.

@Binita Jha
